No Snow

I set my alarm for 6am. I knew it would be just enough time to play in the snow and then get ready for the morning appointments at the studio.  Mornings and I don’t play nicely together so it was a huge feat in itself to get up extra early.  When the alarm clock went off I rushed to my bedroom window with Christmas morning like anticipation to see the huge flakes falling from the sky.  Although I have not experienced snow many times in my life, I have always been amazed by it’s quiet beauty.  It falls silently and steady like feathers drifting in the wind unlike the loud drops of rain we usually get.  To my surprise this morning there was no snow.  No soft flakes covering everything and making it look transformed & almost magical.  Instead, all of Houston woke up to a clear, cold morning and the bitter disappointment that not a single snowflake had fallen as predicted.  The nighttime only left us with a coating of ice which was just enough ice to cover our streets and kill my plants.  Nice. We missed our chance Houston.  Maybe snow will pay us a visit next year.
